About Us

            What is Pilates?

 

- Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in 1926.  Pilates focuses on core strength, flexibility, body awareness, and graceful movement.  Pilates can be practiced in many ways at Pilates on Hilton with mat and reformer classes.  

         Why Should I Take Pilates?

 

- There are many benefits for practitioners of Pilates such as: improved posture, improved strength and flexibility, and weight loss.  Pilates is a great tool for clients looking to improve their golf swing or make everyday activities easier.  Pilates also adds challenges to elite athletes who ordinarily may not be challenged with an average workout.  Pilates can be adapted to what the client is needing with exercises ranging from rehabilitation to challenging athleticism.  

            Your Teacher 

 

Elizabeth has had a passion for moving her whole life.  Elizabeth grew up dancing in  the hopes of becoming a professional dancer until an ankle injury changed her path.  In Los Angeles, at Mount San Antonio College, Elizabeth received a certification for teaching Pilates mat and reformer.  Thanks to her wonderful mentor Karol Ritz, Elizabeth has strived to spread the word and knowledge of Pilates.  Elizabeth strongly believes in the healing powers of Pilates to rehabilitate and challenge each practitioner in unique ways.  Elizabeth is currently a dance instructor at Columbus Dance Conservatory.  Elizabeth will also graduate from Columbus State University in December of 2015 with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Health Science.
